How to Play Mahjongg (Online)

Your goal in Mahjongg is to clear the board by pairing matching tiles. When you spot two tiles with identical patterns, click on one and then the matching one to remove them from the board.

Each character has four tiles, except for flowers and seasons, which have only one of each. Tiles must match exactly with their pair, meaning they should have the same pattern. Flowers can be paired with any flower tile, and seasons can be paired with any season tile.

Every tile features a unique character or symbol, and you must find two free tiles with the same symbol to eliminate them. The game becomes more challenging when tiles are \"locked.\" A tile is \"locked\" when it is surrounded by tiles on both sides. A tile is \"free\" if it is not covered by any tile and has at least one side not blocked by another tile.

Select Your Mahjongg Difficulty Level

Dream - Very Easy

Towers - Easy

Cloud - Medium

Red Dragon - Hard

Ninja - Extremely Difficult

Note: If you’re new to the game, you might find Level 1 (Very Easy) tricky. I personally struggled to finish Level 1 on my first attempt! Don’t get discouraged—it becomes easier with practice.

The game ends when all tiles are removed or when no further moves are possible.

Pro Tip

Prioritize the free tiles rather than focusing solely on finding matches. You can’t match locked tiles, so searching for pairs too early will waste valuable time.

Good luck, and enjoy the challenge!
